Hope Springs Water:  Ethiopia Water Well Project

We did it!  Through your support and prayers, we were able to fund the building of the water well in the village of Burrisse, Ellu, Ethiopia. The well is 170 ft. deep with standing water at about 34 ft. A standard Afridev hand pump was installed and the village Water Committee was trained on how to remove the pump and repair it in the future.  A concrete base was constructed around the well to protect it and provide for water runoff. The village immediately began to build a perimeter fence around the well to keep animals from entering. Our Ethiopia Hope for Life team will be returning soon to provide health and hygiene education in the local school. The regional government water department will continue to monitor the water system and provide technical assistance to the village.
