First Presbyterian Church has an extensive music program ranging from Children's Choir and Hand Bell Choir to our Chancel Choir. Mamie Downing is the church Orgainist & Director of the Hand Bell Choir. Jan Capelle is our New Director of Music. Most of our singers have been members of the Chancel Choir for many years. We welcome new members to the choir at any time of the year. To express your interest, contact Jan Capelle or Mamie Downing through the church office.
In the Early Service, John Mark Solomon leads us in musical worship. He sings & plays guitar & many of the offertories he sings are of his own composition. He is accompanied by Willie Hadnot on the piano. The songs we sing are upbeat & easy to learn. Please come join us!
The Chancel Choir sings in the Eleven O’clock service. In addition to Sunday services the choir presents Lessons and Carols on the second Sunday of December and sings in the Tenebrae service preceding Easter. This choir is lead by our new Interim Choir Director Jan Capelle. Our practices are on Sunday evenings, 6pm in the Sanctuary.
Mamie Downing is the Organist & Hand Bell Choir director. Our practices are Wednesday's at 5:00 in the Sunday school room of the Fellowship Building.

PC Ringers practice @ 5:00pm in the Fellowship Building classroom. If you are interested in joining this musical group, please contact Mamie Downing or call the church office for more information 903-675-3530.
The Peg Cain Hand Bell Choir has played together for several years under the leadership of Mamie Downing. They play in worship each season & add to the musical joy of our Christmas Music Programs. We have a membership of twelve & out of those, there is a bell quartet that plays for special programs & in worship. The handbells perform using a 4 octave set of Schulmerich bells, and a 2 octave set of Schulmerich hand chimes.
Men for Him will kick off its seventh season as rehearsals begin again after a summer break on Tuesday, September 5th at 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. We are encouraging members to bring friends who love to sing to this first rehearsal. We will be starting new music in addition to refreshing our repertoire so this is a great time for new members to join.
Men for Him, a chorus who sings a cappella four-part barbershop style religious music, is made up of over 20 men from area churches. We love to sing, share our faith through music and enjoy each other’s fellowship as we practice weekly and then perform. Practices are held each Tuesday at 7 p.m. September through May.
If God has gifted you with a singing voice and a passion for sharing the Gospel, you may want to consider visiting Men for Him on September 5. Please feel free to call me at 214-478-2386 if you have any questions about our group. I look forward to this new season and the opportunities we will have to witness through the gift of music.
