317 Youth
WHAT IS "317"
?
"317"
is our youth ministry designed for all students grades 6th - 12th. The
term "317" comes from Colossians 3:17, "Whatever you
do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Our purpose at First Presbyterian Church is to present the Gospel of Jesus
Christ in a non-threatening and relevant way to all students, and to biblically
equip them with the tools necessary to live out their faith in Christ.
317 is a new ministry
in the church resulting from the influx of younger families joining PFC
within the past few years. We would love for you to join us and see what
God is doing in this ministry.

"Good Bye"
By Paul Sparkman
Familiar faces tell me the news.
Familiar people, they watch you go
into the ground.
But I wasn't there, no I wasn't there.
But I was right beside you when you
took your last breath.
I wasn't ready to say good bye, no.
I wasn't ready to say good bye.
Your familiar smile is only a memory,
And the times that we shared have
been locked in my mind forever.
I wasn't ready to say good bye, no,
I wasn't ready to say good bye.
So I look up at the sky and I realize you're gone, but in a weird kind
of way,
I'm rejoicing because you finally got to touch the face, the face of God.
Still I wasn't ready to say good bye, no.I wasn't ready to say good bye,
good bye, good bye.
Paul Sparkman, pictured above right playing his guitar, wrote the song
"Good Bye". He sang this song on Youth Sunday, and many were
touched by his gift. In response to requests from our congregation, we
have printed the lyrics to his music.
Paul will be 18 on December 28. His hobbies are music, hunting, and
long walks on the beach (just kidding!). Paul has a passion for Young
Life and is an inspiration to all who know him.
God bless you, Paul, as you serve Him by serving others.
