Food & Fellowship
Brunch

On Easter Sunday morning and on Rally Sunday (when our church school year starts, usually mid-August) we have brunch between the 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. services. We welcome good cooks who want to prepare breakfast items to share.
Family Night Supper

The Congregational Concerns Committee oversees this activity. The church family meets on the third Wednesday evening of the month (excluding June, July, August and December) at 6:00 p.m. for a shared meal and fellowship. In June a Hamburger/Hotdog Cookout is held for our church family and the families that have participated in Vacation Bible School. That meal is on the Friday night at the end of the VBS week. The rest of the meals are usually “pot luck” and the programs vary. The Scripture Choir sings a selection or two and another program follows. This is a great time to spend with the church family, getting to know one another better and sharing a good meal. If you have program ideas, please contact Steve Sparkman-Committee Chair.
We have an annual Chili Cook-off – with prizes and all – in February. Our impartial judges, from the fire department, choose from unidentified chili submissions. In addition, we judge presentation of the serving area and or a presentation regarding the chili for an additional prize. This is great fun – practice your favorite recipe and join the competition.
Other theme dinners are planned throughout the year.
Honey Bees

The Honey Bees meet to celebrate birthdays, on the second Friday of each month from September through May of each year. The group is open to all women and anyone interested can join at any time. Generally the group meets at the church to carpool to area restaurants for lunch together. The members who have a birthday that month receive a free meal and many good wishes from the other members. June Weiss has agreed to take over as the coordinator of this group. If you learn of a new tea room, or restaurant, or have an idea for a celebration let June know! Contact June or the church office if you need further information. All are welcome ~ Plan to join us!
Senior Trips

The Senior members of the church occasionally get together to attend baseball games, the State Fair, plays, concerts, tour museums or share a meal. All seniors are invited to attend these events, and transportation is provided. Watch the newsletters and calendars for these events. If you have ideas for a trip, please contact Phyllis Kidwell.
STUFFers (Supping Together Unites Fun and Fellowship)

We have STUFFers for the adults in our church to gather in groups of 8 to 20 to share a meal. Hosts and Hostesses provide the main course and the guests bring the appetizers, salads, sides and desserts. These meals are a great way to get to know each other in a relaxed setting.
