S2Crew

The once a month Children's Night is changing!

Starting January 8th, we will meet on the 2nd Sunday of each month in the Children's Building from 5:30-7:00pm. Children ages kindergarten-5th grade meet for S2Crew, January-May. We will start up again in September.  They share a meal, complete a craft project, perform Science Object Talks & complete a mission project.  This group can use volunteers to help the Children's Director supervise the children, gather supplies for all activities, or tell a Bible story to the group.

Kid Quake-Camp Gilmont

Kid Quake is a weekend camp in Gilmont, TX at the Presbyterian Camp, Gilmont. The children have the opportunity to attend in the spring, usually in April.  This is a weekend of adventure, learning, being outdoors & getting to know each other on a deeper level. We need volunteer sponsors to help in the supervision of the children during the camp. 1 male sponsor is needed for every 6 boys as wells as, 1 female sponsor per 6 girls. Vacation Bible School (VBS)

At First Presbyterian Church, VBS is held on the third full week in June, Monday-Friday from 9:00am-noon.  If members volunteer who have children to young to participate, free child care is provided.  Volunteer opportunities range from preparing snacks to playing games with each group.  Each age/grade group has adult leaders that teach Bible story, Memorization of bible verses, Mission study & making Crafts all in a classroom setting. Other activities include Music time in the opening & closing ceremonies, bible skits, snack time & Recreation.

Two times each semester a Parent’s Night Out is offered to the parents in our church and the parents whose children attend our Mother’s Day Out program. For ages infant to 5th grade. With meal $5, without meal $3, per child. The Children's Director is with the older children, leading them in games, crafts, watching movies, & outdoor play time-weather permiting.  The younger children are cared for by our professional child care staff.  This gives parents a chance to plan something, knowing that their child is receiving loving child care at an affordable rate. Youth

The Youth have activities for students in grades 6 through 12.  They have two groups that meet on Sunday evenings.  They frequently share snacks, play games and learn more about each other through Bible study and other educational activities.  If these activities appeal to you, contact the church office @ 903-675-3530 and volunteer to assist.  In addition, there are summer Mission trips and camps that utilize volunteers for supervision.
